Vent Silence

It's been a little while since you were last updated. We're still going. Dave is coming down from NY to hopefully put the finishing touches on the album this weekend. It's been going beautifully, and our engineer Mike Andreski is a genius and artist. He's making us sounds like a million bucks (when it has only cost several thousand!), and has helped us birth a great record. If everything works out...we'll just need to get it mastered and packaged up nice and pretty!

In other news - Atif and I have been working on new songs and seeing how Vent Silence moves and flows without Dave. We can't replace a talent and friend like him, but the new music is really good and we think you'll agree. Also, (how could I have failed to mention this before?), we've got a really talented fellow on bass now! Welcome Vincent! He's got an excellent head for music and composition, and he sure can shake it up with that bass of his. I'm looking forward to working with him and making another round of music for you all. The future is looking good!
Cheers,
Kristian

It was amazing how many people came to see us last Wednesday at The Velvet Lounge! Special thanks to A.K. for bringing about 100 people to the show! It was fun, and the cries of encore weren't bad either. We got the show recorded, so hopefully we'll have some live trax for you soon. In the meantime, we're in the studio writing and recording our first full length album. We're psyched. If you were at the last show, you heard a taste of some of the new stuff. We're excited and proud of it! Anyway -- while we finish that up, we're looking for more shows in the new year! Check us out!

The show at SONAR rocked! Lot's of fun and a great sound system. Grubspoon kicked ass, and The Expotentials were frickin' awesome...and they're only a two piece.
One cool thing was that we got to debut a new song and it went over well. When we play it at the Velvet, it'll likely have words! Sweet! There will also be at least one more new song at the Velvet show next month, so stay tuned!

Hi -- we're working on new songs and they are coming fast and furious. This will realy be a great record when it's done -- very ambitious. Also, we're looking at bringing the noise locally. Stay tuned - DC will once again feel our wrath.
Finally - we're trying out this MySpace thing. There are a lot of band and a lot of girls on MySpace, each trying to link to each other...why not us? There's also some really cool wierdos out there as well. You'll no doubt find them linked to us here at MySpace.com/VentSilence. Also - you can read our more frequently updated ramblings here: Our MySpace Blog

We've just been confirmed for a show in Baltimore at a Sonar
for October 6th! We're stoked. It's great club and a big stage. See you there.

Damn...it's hot. I love DC, but she's an uncomfortably hot and humid mistress. Anyway -- We're now practicing in an aluminum box (with great acoustics, by the way) that cooks all the unworthy music out of us. All that is left is the blazing goodness that you know and love from Vent Silence. Yes, my faithful friends -- we're working on a batch of evil new songs that will surprise and delight. Not only that, but we're going to be playing them for you at points up and down the East Coast this summer. Look for us in Baltimore soon!

The show at Chief Ike's was awesome! We had a good turnout and made some new friends. Thanks to Ten Feet Tall, Saints Of Silence, Overrun, and frickin' Cab Assassin for rocking with us.

Wow -- Last night at DC9 was awesome. Lots of you came out to see us cap off an excellent evening of rock. We were glad to be able to share two new songs with you. Look for more new stuff in the coming months, we're feeling fertile and dangerous. Grubspoon got to show off their new CD (check it out!), and we got to play with a great band from St. Louis, Riddle Of Steel. Hope to see these guys again very soon!

We're going to be playing at DC9 on the the 20th! Come on out to see us. It's going to be an exciting show. We'll be playing with our buddies in Grubspoon, new friends Riddle Of Steel. Best of all, we're going to be showing off two brand new songs. We're confident you'll love them!

The Demo is Done! We recorded it at Cue Recording in VA, and it sounds great - especially thanks to Mike, our engineer. There are three of your favorite songs on there. Come out to our next show and check it out!

The show at the The Wonderland was fun! We had some good friends come out to see us, and it was splendid time. It was fun to play with Boxcar Collision, and some friends from the Cab Assassin crew were there to lend support! Be sure to check them out on March 19th! Check their website for details.

Well...we're going back into the lab to cook up new songs for you! When you see us again in May, there should be a few new ones to rock your world. Also, some more recordings in our future! We'll keep you posted. See you soon!

We just booked a show at The Wonderland! It's a great neighborhood bar - so y'all should come check it out. Also - it's free! How can you beat that?

We're still waiting to mix our new demo - but we'll post updates on that as it comes.

We did indeed RAWK the Royal Baltimore! Our friends in Grubspoon joined us and really played a great show. Also -- I must give a huge dose of thanks to Chris and Becca for bringing out a crowd of folks to see us! I like playing in Baltimore -- I get the feeling it could become our home-away-from-home. Thanks for making us feel loved! My only gripe about the show was that I not only broke a string during a very fast and intense part of Man Overboard, but then my backup guitar broke a string during the next song! I'm a little pissed about that...but Atif and Dave took the time during the string change to lay down an awesome improvised groove. Folks were digging it! No dead air.

Vent Silence is laying down the tracks for our new demo. We're trying out the recording facilities at WMBC just outside of Baltimore. It's a fun place! Looking forward to mixing it down and showing you all what we've cooked up!

Our first ever show at DC9. That place rules. Grubspoon was there, and they rocked the house! Cab Assassin was also in attendance, and they closed out the night with some serious hardcore! Thanks, guys!

11/04/2004
We played our first show since the arrival of Atif. It was such an excellent experience! Everyone in the audience had an excellent time (thanks, guys!), and a few were heard to say that Atif brings our creativity and performance to a new level. We agree.

5/18/2004
Vent Silence is finishing the mixing process on their new demo today! Our friends at Cue Recording have done a great job, and we can't wait to show you all what we've been up to.

5/10/2004
We're in the studio today tracking for our new demo. This demo will feature two songs you've never heard before, as well as introducing you to the newest member of the family, drummer Atif Khan!

4/7/2004
We've found a new drummer! We look forward to strutting our stuff on record and on stage soon....stay tuned.
